The art of Thiffany Belda Wilmouth - Truly inpirational web, graphic, painting and creative work

With a solid background in traditional art and multimedia, Thiffany’s artworks depict character interplays suspended in a transient moment of an implied broader visual narrative.

Whimsical twists and turns confound a visual narrative highlighting present day culture. A visual commentary on individual interactions and how they interface with their physical, ideological or imagined surroundings.

Currently, her mixed-media pieces explore a fantasy world by drawing from the subversive message of the Victorian fairytale - where detail, whimsy and vibrant colors invite you to enter. The imagery and motifs of Alice in Wonderland, with their subliminal messages about society and individuality, pervade most of her work. As do tree silhouettes contrasting with humankind’s vertical cities and inescapable presence. Thiffany re-uses these visual cues throughout her series, questioning their overarching impact on the viewer’s perception of her artwork.

PS: Art Under Construction invitationJANUARY 20-31, 2010 - LAUNCH PROJECTS - Gallery hours: Wed – Sun, 12-5pm

“Art under construction” refers to the process of building an art collective and the preparation needed to put on an exhibition.

With mixed media and painting, the artists in PS: Art Under Construction explore time; it’s past, its present and its future. As time passes we will continue our ‘art under construction' and we'll move forward to our second show PS: Art Out Loud to be held at the Propeller Gallery this March 17-28, and then we move on, into our lives as practicing artists.
