London, Fridays, coffee and spanish
A quick catch up! Thursday I spent the day in London with my argentinian friend. The Spanish consulate visit went well; my old passport has been snipped and a new one is on the making. So for all intents and purposes I cannot leave the island! :s That always gives me a sense of clautrophobia!
We also ate at Yo sushi - sushi is definately my favourite food. For dessert we had Ben & Jerry's fish food under a very sunny sky. Then we ventured into Hamley's (the toy shop) where the girl's department is Pi-in-nk(iiirrrc!.) Then we had a stroll down Canarby Street - a visually fantastic place - and got some amazing deals at the CSS art shop. :) I'm all kitted out with more Derwent Inktense watersoluble ink pencils and some Letraset markers!
We then enjoyed strolling around the National Gallery, saw the 'Manet to Picasso' exhibit and the ongoing art performances in various rooms. It's quite bizarre to have an artist making a replica of an art work inside a gallery! :) All that fresh paint!
After all that walking we deserved a proper afternoon cream tea :) I'm getting quite fond of scones, cream and jam :) My husband joined us around six. Then the two of us visited the National Portrait Gallery and had dinner at Leicester Square before heading back home :)
Friday came not a moment too soon! To make it through last week I required serious amounts of coffee -no less than 4 cups on friday... My duracell batteries are not what they useed to be! To make the day even more challenging I had my first spanish class. It's mind boggling how portugues and spanish can be so similar and at the same time so different!!! Apellido is surname in spanish and nickname in portuguese. Sobrenome is nickname in spanish and surname in portuguese! I get a feeling my brain is going to cease to work! :)
